Not a recall but the Ford Pinto fuel tank debacle needs a mention.

This is why I think Volvo and Tesla's safety is overrated. Good crash test ratings and active safety features are lovely but if you make particularly unreliable vehicles you can still endanger people.

It's still surprising that you get major recalls now days, considering how far technology has come and how much of effort is done in testing vehicles years before they go on sale

But things can happen the main thing is how manufacturers treat problems and recalls once the problem is known

Yeah the fuel pump recalls pretty bad I was talking with my dad about it my parents own 2008 Highlander right before my dad retired from Toyota he ordered it and it unfortunately now the car just sits because they’re both retired it has like 30, 000 miles on it but about a year or two ago it had slight fuel pump issues and every dealer we talk to was telling us man we’ve never had to mess with fuel pumps on theses. But unfortunately in today’s modern assembly lines it seems like the parts don’t have time to sit it goes straight to the manufacture so if there’s any defects it’s hard to catch because by that time the manufacture has made 100, 000 units of a car!

Floor mat delete is the mod to do for '07 and '10 Toyotas

Also by the way my family used to have a 2003 Corolla without the airbag recall done on it, the worst part is someone else is driving that very same Corolla

Please correct me if I am wrong but I believe Lexus had recalls as well. Lexus SUV's were rolling over due a narrow wheel-base and electronic stability control issues.

I remember my uncle in the 1970’s had a Ford jump and he laughed that Ford sent a sticker to put on the dashboard. He got rid of that car because they didn’t fix it.

Apparently, Honda is facing accusations and big fines for allegedly knowing about the Takata problems before incidents started happening. I personally call these accusations BS because if Honda knew, then bigger companies like Toyota surely would've known, but what do you think?
