Settings > Music > Sound Check OFF
This is big reason why music will sound lower than it should but everything else sounds normal.

I could actually hear the increase in volume when I chose Music in settings and then chose “Late night”… I’m old and thought that feature would make the volume less as people (my age) would be sleeping or getting ready to sleep! Hahaha!

Bro none of this worked: why can’t apple just have louder phones without compromising the actual system.
