Thank you for the video, Dani. Nicely done! Tolumnias are some of my favorite orchids. The only thing I can add is that they are warm growers (although mine do seem to put up with intermediate conditions). They put out a lot of flowers for the size of the plant, and mature ones can be in bloom for several months with the branches from the main flower spike. I love em!!!!

Love my Tolumnias they have wonderful flowers and great space savers. I have mine in 3" clay pots with a medium grade bark mixed with a small amount of Sphagnum moss. I also put a very thin layer of moss on the surface to hold humidity. They are in full sun in a south facing window. I water about every two to three days. Everytime I water the leaves get a good misting. Right now I have 6 and all doing fine. Love your videos thanks for the info !

Thanks now I really want a tolumnia orchid lol. No but really, I like that it doesn't need so much moister and that it's kinda a space saver, it just makes sense for me living in a dryer climate and limited space 😊

Just reading some more comments here I think the trick to using sphagnum is to always pot them in clay pots so they get lots of root air circulation and dry out quickly. And mine seem to love humidity probably because of the amount of light they get. They love being in hangers also like the one you have.

Hi Danny, I hace 8 of This orchids definitely are beautiful. I recommend you to repoted it with bark or on a peace of tree, this orquid does not like the humidity for a long period of time they lives better in dry medium. I water ones a week and they are beautiful. I WISH THE BEST WITH YOUR NEW BABY...

Thanks for the tips. I always visit a nursery with "getting a tolumnia" in mind, but so far I had only brought back Paphios and Bulbos. Maybe I should pay them another visit.

I love your videos I've just got my first two Tolumnias. Is it possible to talk about care when potted in inorganic medium? Thank you.

I can keep my Tolumnia with my Vanda and Catts? Great one more shield for my Phals and Paphs lol. I also observe the V-shaped leaves close back up with age. Also mine has brown freckles on leaves.

I have 2 tolumnia jairak, one is a rainbow red and the other is a dalmation. I got them from a show in April 2019. They were very tiny. The dalmation has grown extremely well and has produced 3 large new plants. Unfortunately, the rainbow red has the centre leafs turning brown and pull out of the medium. It does have 1 small new area with a few small leafs. I had planted both into an orchid medium of coconut fiber and white stuff when I got them. I water once a week with an orchid medium. I fill the container full of water and then after an hour drain off liquid leaving a small amount of water on the bottom. The 2 plants were very happy up until a couple weeks ago. Any recommendations to help this plant?
