Looks really cool, though i'm definitely looking forward to seeing AoS games done in studio, on a standard table size, and with painted models.

you know guys... this is a demo game and thus limited so the board would normally be bigger, the deployment would be different and so on...

Looks like fast and fun skirmish game, with nice looking models. I may start Warhammer finally with this game. I can fully appreciate it's not what many wanted, but it suits my needs nicely.

Glad GW is finally listening to people that are interested in playing tabletop games. Hopefully we will get more incoming gamers and weed out the haters. That's the only way to build a good community. P.s. I always see angry people playing 40k, but everyone playing AoS having a good time.

Hello, WHFB fans! Two things:

1) Roughly half of GW's product line and inventory (WHFB) represented roughly 8% of their total sales. It would have been asinine for them to continue developing and supporting a game that was tanking that badly. AoS now represents roughly 30% of their sales.

2) Who exactly put guns to your heads and told you that you couldn't continue to play with your old models and your old rules? Gosh, that must have been traumatic! No wonder you never stop crying about the game you weren't buying.

With a bit of improvement on the rules this game will be awesome, definitely needs point costs for the armies.

Steve sounds exactly like Penn Jillette of Penn and Teller!

On a table this size the game looks even more ridiculous.

I for one wish this 2'x2' square of space was the norm for tabletop games. Makes the battle way more intimate and fast-paced!

i am going to be flamed to hell for this but I am gonna say it anyway. After reading through these rules I really LIKE this game. I disagree with a couple rules (mostly randomized elements).

I am someone who had 0% interest level in WFB, but this has me excited to try (especially considering all the old armies having warscrolls available).

I am holding off, however, until I know what model they intend to use for the future product releases.

please make a battlefield a little more smaller. I can see still some free space there at the start.

So I've got 5 warscrolls, nothin super cheesy just one unit of 20 chaos knights, one unit of 36 chaos warriors, one unit of 80 Beastmen Gors, a unit of 7 chaos chariots, and a chaos lord who, each turn, can put as many models into the game as I want if I roll a 4+

I'm a guy that was waiting for this before getting into the Hobby.  Everyone said that End Times was literal and a new set was coming so I waited rather than spending hundreds to get 8th edition stuff.

I remember adding the rulebooks, painting tools, and a couple models to a cart and balking at the price.  So that's where I'm at when I say this...

I like what I'm seeing.  I like both players participating in Combat Phases,  I like the low model count, I like the printable war scrolls, I like the simple rules and they don't seem beer and pretzel by this demo.

My questions are how are armies selected? Do you have to play on such a small board? And as seen I this match even though he was outnumbered he was clearly the more powerful army.  So essentially you gave the more powerful army the choice of scenarios?

What I don't like is the theme of the names of the races, the lack of that big hard back book on the bookcase, and the uncertainty that this game will pick up before I invest money into it.

ya AOS needs lots of overhaul. they need to pull it back into the garage and make a race car out of it because right now it's a 1985 pinto with a gas leak.

I love it! Don't understand why people would have disliked this game.

I'm confused with the whole "pile in" thing. It looked like you just moved each model 3" closer, but the rules say it has to be towards the closest enemy model. I'm assuming "towards" means directly towards and not to the side a little bit. So if there is already one of your models standing directly in front of the closest enemy then you're not going to get many models in to the fight, especially if your weapon range is 1" and your enemy is arranged in a spearhead like formation. Any clarification on this appreciated.
Also, what the hell is the point of being the one who charges if you don't get any kind of advantage?

No Weapon Skill, Ballistic, Strength or Toughness values? What the hell is the point of playing then? Everyone kills everything, everyone is a winner, where's the strategy? If they do this to 40k I'm a complete idiot for getting involved in this hobby

Looks like Sigmarines are the better deal in this set. Pretty good victory and Steve wasn't even using the guy on the cat thing.
