The problem with this is everyone else has to pay taxes while Amazon walks off. No one should be paying income tax. Just replace the whole thing with consumption tax. If people got to keep more of their money, they would have the incentives to buy more.

Any profits earned by corporations can be reinvested back into the company, and that is a common way to avoid taxation. But was it really $0.00 in taxes?

I'm no friend of Bezos, and the fact that he owns the Washington Post these days might have something to do with the NYT's defensive take on their federal corporate tax liability. But the fact of the matter is corporate taxes are not paid by corporations. They invariably pass such costs on to their customers. And every stakeholder and all of their several tens of thousands of employees pay income taxes, which are deducted before those checks are deposited. Corporate taxes are an illusion. This report ignores the considerable sum, many billions in revenue Amazon generates for the federal, state and local government, everything from collateral and subsidiary companies and their employees, sales taxes they collect for the states.
Finally, if they avoid unnecessary further liabilities that can hardly be their fault. Those responsible are in Congress not at Amazon HQ. Tucker knows all this.
