Worked example in which we calculate the area, or region, enclosed between two curves using integration.
The method is summarised in 3 steps:
- Step 1 : Find the x coordinates of the points of intersection of the two curves.
- Step 2 : Determine which curve is above the other between the 2 values of x found in step 1 and establish which definite integral the area is equal to.
- Step 3: Evaluate the definite integral.

This is amazing. Looking at the curve, it feels like cheating solving something as complicated this simply. Great video, especially after having calculus at school, this shows a "practical" way to use Integrals. Thank you!
