"(this isn't a cry for help, it's just the words from an error screen from Pocket Camp)" - original caption.
Dancing Bob greenscreen (original source of the gif I used) by @Geibuchan , made in Blender it turns out!!
For the past few years I had a long section of text buried in here explaining the origins of this. I saw a gif of bob dancing over the text on Tumblr, and assumed (since I'd never played Pocket Camp at the time) that it was ripped directly from an in-game error screen. A couple years later I played the game, saw the 'error' message and realized that bob does NOT dance over it. I realized that putting bob over the text (y'know, juxtaposition!) was presumably done by the tumblr user, and I never even thought to note their name. I don't think I ever found that original post (searching tumblr is hard enough, let alone for posts with no text). At that point I wrote the original spiel in this description, but at least it was just two in-game assets smushed together. At least the gif of Bob dancing came from *somewhere else* in the game, right?
Nope! Turns out the gif, which was adapted from a greenscreen, was actually made/animated in BLENDER by Geibuchan. Someone had gif'd it, presumably someone ELSE had combined the gif with the error, then I made a track over it. It's cool how shared art/memes evolve like this (ppl have taken this even further, adding lyrics, referencing it in a video game, etc), but I still feel kinda bad that the original source (that I didn't even know existed) never got any credit this whole time!!
Anyway whatever - as I said in the original text: use this, build on it, steal it wholesale, profit from it (I mean, Nintendo still owns the character/theme I remixed so yknow, tread carefully). It's passed between so many hands to get here, and maybe it'll be passed between more hands to come (though it's pretty old, kinda run its course by now maybe LOL)
