Mariah Carey's ex-boyfriend is speaking out on their split. Bryan Tanaka, 40, confirmed in a lengthy Instagram post on Dec. 26 that he and the music superstar have parted ways after seven years together, sharing that the breakup was a choice they made jointly. "Our decision to embark on different paths is mutual, and as we navigate these separate journeys, we do so with profound respect and an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the invaluable time we've shared. The memories we've created and the artistic collaborations are etched in my heart forever," he wrote in part. Bryan's message comes days after the separation first made headlines, with a source claiming to Page Six at the time that the pair's 14-year age gap and conflicting life goals played a role. The dancer noted in his post that Mariah's "dedication to her family and her commitment to her craft" inspired them during their relationship and he gave a special nod to her 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. "I want to express my love and appreciation for Mariah and her incredible children, whose warmth and kindness have enriched my life in ways words cannot capture," he added.
