In real life use, not one person can get 6 months out of the batteries in standby, even in an extremely low traffic area.  Because once you access the camera via the app to turn PIR on/off, you are burning battery power.  And the batteries, CR123A aren't inexpensive, around $2 each for a quality brand.  Also, the battery status page will only show the battery either almost full or low, no in between.  So you get a false sense that the battery is holding up well, and then all of a sudden it's low.  Another thing to note is that while "Clear" is 1080 and 720p, "Fluent" is Q720p, which is one quarter 720p or 180p.  And, inside the battery compartment is a micro USB port that can be used to connect alternative power, either an outlet or a larger mAH battery pack.

I was so disappointed with the price of batteries or the short life of rechargeable batteries I nearly gave up on this one...
it does not last long if you constantly look at to see if anything is out there lol.

Jordan, don't forget to mention that the user can also view the camera "live" or "recorded" footage while away from their LAN connection. For example on their cellular connection.

I am ready to consider buying this system but I have a few reservations. Firstly, does the camera or playback not give you an option to record? For example on the telephone app?

Will this camera still record if its not connected to wifi? I want to setup it up on wifi and then used it somewhere it doesnt have wifi and have it record on the SD card and later view it when I bring it back home to connect to wifi.
