Meet the Sweathogs. They’re the rowdiest, goofiest bunch of students to ever step foot inside a high school. But if they think they’re too unruly for a good teacher to handle, they’re in for a rude awakening when they meet Mr. Kotter — a former Sweathog who’s returned to his alma mater to shape the minds of these remedial students as their new teacher!

I was 6 months pregnant with my first child in Fall 1975. I was home all the time and watched that show every week. Loved it! I have fond memories of it due to that special time in my life. The marriage didn’t last, but I still have my daughter who is 47 years old now.

That was hilarious even in 2020. This show stands the rest of time.

I met Robert Hegyes
many years ago. Seemed like a very nice man may he rest in peace. Life was so much simpler then.

Our 7th Grade class (‘75/76) was called The Sweathogs. I was Vinny and my best buddy was Arnold. Had everyone laughing. When the Superintendent cane in, we all said - “Mr Woodman!” He was clueless.

Horshak always reminded me of a male Edith Bunker whenever he talks, LOL.

Jaun was my favorite character on that show. When I was a little kid running around Detroit I wore a red bandana in my back pocket like him lol

1:16 Juan had either a “He’s behind me, isn’t he?” or a “It was at this moment, he knew, he fucked up.” moment.

" Yeah mr kotter. I did what i suppose to do. But it was too late to do homework after she left." 😂😂😂😂 My folks used to watched this back then. Now my grandma wanted to watch it again but cant find it. These old shows i used to watch with my grandparents. I watch the andy grifith show, bewitched, the beverily hillbillies, bonnaza, gunsmoke, the rifleman, In the heat of the night, perry mason, Leave it to beaver, good times, and i started to watch the twilight zone.

There were some very funny events at school in my time in my old hometown of NYC during the Mad Men era. Too bad I only remember a few and did not have a diary. I finished Richmond Hill High School in 1974, borough of Queens, NYC. 😊
