Zabbix server installation explained

This video explains how to install and configure Zabbix server 4.0 LTS release on Centos7 operating system.

Keep in mind that in this video we won't touch SELinux or Firewall configuration.

I think you forgot to mention those two steps in the end of the installation process: # systemctl restart zabbix-server zabbix-agent httpd

It is a nice vid but certainly missing some commands. For the newbies as me: @16:12 you need to run this command # yum install vim -y to install VIM and @20:18 you need to configure the firewall in order to reach the webinterface of zabbix by using these commands: # firewall-cmd --add-service=http --zone=public --permanent
# firewall-cmd --reload

I've spent hours over days trying to get this '5 minute' job done. :( Currently getting 'Cannot bind socket to ... Permission denied' in the logs. Disabled SELinux. Sigh... Really excited to start using this.

I have install Zabbix on CentOS and installed properly and services (Zabbix Server, Mysql, httpd)are working.But when I try to connect by browser I don't get anything. Web page don't display.

On your zabbixcookbook channel the sound quality was way better. Your speeach is fuzzy and there is some noise cancellation with echo. Please do something with that.

Using the same token (zabbix) as table name, user name and password is a bad habit in software development. Consider if a problem occurred; if you need to debug anything related to your system, when you access some logs containing the used token, you may not be able to decide whether the problem is related to the table name or user name or password. Ambiguities cost time.

What the difference between install zabbix package on server like ubuntu, centos 7 or using Appliance ISO???
