Mel's Hole | Call # 1 of 5 (First Call)

The legend of the bottomless hole started on February 21, 1997, when a man identifying himself as Mel Waters appeared as a guest on Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell. Waters claimed that he owned rural property nine miles west of Ellensburg in Kittitas County, Washington that contained a mysterious hole. According to Waters, the hole had an unknown depth of at least 80,000 feet. He claimed to have measured its depth using fishing line and a weight, although he still had not hit bottom by the time 80,000 feet of line had been used. He also claimed that his neighbor's dead dog had been seen alive sometime after it was thrown into the hole. According to Waters, the hole's magical properties prompted US federal agents to seize the land and fund his relocation to Australia.
Waters made guest appearances on Bell's show in 1997, 2000, and 2002. Rebroadcasts of those appearances have helped create what's been described as a "modern, rural myth". The exact location of the hole was unspecified, yet several people claimed to have seen it.

Some people theorize that in the last 3 of the 5 calls, it isn't Mel Waters. They say it doesn't sound like the "real" Mel and suggest it is someone trained to sound like Mel.

I used to listen to this late at night in CANADA 🇨🇦 when I was incarcerated. This used to be the best show to listen to and honestly big out to late at night cause they’d talk a lot about aliens. It used to air at 3 in the morning on the AM frequency on our prison radios.
Just hearing his takes me back to those trippy nights.

I BELIEVE this story. There are many, many, many other tales of unexplained goings on. It is FUN and exciting to talk about. In my opinion it is NOT meant for most of us to know certain MYSTERIES of earth and beyond. Our species is not ready yet.

He said it must of been atleast 80, 000 feet, that’s 15 miles down 🤯🤯🤯🤯 let that sink in man. So where I from we drive in Kilometers (KM’s) so that’s 24 Kms, it would take me 15/20 minutes driving at 100kms/h to reach the bottom !!! 😳😳🤯🤯🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ Imagine falling down there

We have Indian mounds on our land in ms. One time there was a giant light in the sky over the field i was hunting in. It was like looking up at the moon. The light didnt reach the ground like typical ufo stuff you see in movies. Witnessed two fighter jets fly to and around it and back to where ever they came from. Tried waving my flashlight at it and looking at it through the scope of my gun but the light was so white that i couldn't get a clear look at it. My dad isn't superstitious at all and even he said he didnt know what it was but he had never seen anything like it. It was above us the whole night on the way to my uncle's house.

They stopped digging the kola bore hole at around 7 miles down because it was so hot down there the equipment wasnt able to go on. Im thinking 15 miles down would disintegrate almost anything down there. Don't think it's possible
