One of my all time favorite songs. 50 years later this song can still stand the test of time. Very fitting song in today's world. Timeless masterpiece.

Is it possible for a song to be more relevant the older it gets? Yes.

Memories of when I was in my late teens (I'm now 69) - after hitting the bars, we would head over to this Donut Shop in Rexdale ON. Where I played the hell out of this song on their Juke Box. The owner had to replace this single twice! Good days, R.I.P. Alvin Lee

The song was supposed to be a dig at protester singer/songwriters who never accompanied the masses they stirred. But it was so good that the dig got buried in the beauty of its rendition. Oh yeah, and arguably the best guitar solo in history. 1971, Fort Lewis, Washington...my drill sergeant played this over the loudspeakers as we lunged, plunged and parried during bayonet training. Good times.

Absolutely on point. I grew up in that era.

A song from my childhood that's a relevant today as it was then. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I had this album in 1971 when I was 13. Played it until the grooves were gone.

Drums battle the Guitar all the way through.Calm man turns angry only eased by a silky chorus ...Pure Magic from start to finish .

This might be the best song ever written. My inner soul has been searching for this song for many years now(46 of them). See you on the other side boys.

I can't believe that there are 53 dullards out there that gave this iconic song a thumbs down!! I was there the day it first hit the radio back in 68 and have loved it ever since.

I have heard this song a lot over the course of my life but I just now started to appreciate it for how meaningful is at 20 years of age, makes me wonder what other songs I have passed by without a deeper thought.

Alvin Lee, may he rest in peace, basically blew the roof off the old international amphitheater in Chicago. That was in 1978, to be precise. The old cow palace is gone now, but that was arguably one of the best concerts I've seen. Especially when the encore that they played was good morning little school girl.
They were on fire that night.

It's always been the struggle always this song will be timeless because the struggle will always be there.

The song is obviously more relevant today than ever as we continue to make the same mistakes over and over again. It was originally written as a reaction to then ongoing war in Vietnam and the follies it entailed. Not that we have learnt anything better today.

Never give up though. I think Alvin Lee and Ten Years After wrote this because he saw the desperation in this world in the late 60’s. He lived on and lives on in this song. We have to live together and keep on.
