I love the intros for the best picture nominees.

It took 12 years for Boyhood to lose an Oscar

It’s unfortunate that Whiplash and Birdman were made in the same year because they both deserved Best Picture

I think I can safely call this one of the most experimental oscars ever many of these movies were straight up experiments the more you think about it, boyhood taking 12 years to make, Grand Budapest with its constantly changing aspect ratios from full screen to letter box, right on down to looking like it was shot on 8mm, birdman with its exceptional cinematography the camera never breaking or cutting to another scene giving the appearance of being shot in one take, I haven't seen movie making like that in a long time.

Michael Keaton loses.... still gets to make a quick speech. Why? .... Because he's Batman!

Sean Penn is not racist. I saw this live and thought the same thing.

Sean and the director of BM are close friends and always crack jokes on each other.

That's why they hugged when they won.

No body and I mean NO BODY could have done the part of Riggan Thompson other than Michael Keaton.

A well deserved Oscar. Birdman is one of the best films I've seen in a while.

"Two Mexicans in a row? That's suspicious." Cut to 4 years later when 5 of the last 6 best director winners were one of 3 Mexicans.

I didnt felt this satisfied after watching a movie for a long period of time ...Birdman is so crazily good !! I remember watching American beauty and feeling like that !

I genuinely think that this was the last great year at the Oscars. Birdman, Whiplash, Boyhood and the Grand Budapest Hotel were far better than many of the films that have won Best Picture recently.

1:46 no hug... no love... no handshake... no "high 5"... life can be a hole filled with sadness and darkness.

Interstellar should have been nominated over American Sniper.
And Michael Keaton should have won best actor

My mom and I were watching the Oscars while I was in the hospital and we both jumped from joy when Alejandro won, the nurses came running thinking I was having an attack or something. xD

I'm still confused as to how the fuck American Sniper was nominated

Birdman is the greatest "best picture winner" since The return of the king. So deserved. And yet there were so many other brillant movies. I think 2014 was the best year for movies since 1994.

I loved Birdman, I can't understand for the life of me how some people thought it was I just can't. It's a masterpiece! to put an emotion such as the ego and portray how it goes about in our daily life, through the ongoing communication we have with ourselves, and the world. To be able and put onscreen the ongoing mind battles humans have, I mean what a clever and unique movie this was. I can't wait for the I heard it was a bit too bloody and strong, but I'll watch nonetheless
