A place I used to work for thought that they could replace 3/4 of their workforce of 14 with robotics. um. no. You see the robotics actually needed at least 4 times the previous workforce for support. People were needed to ensure that the equipment didn't suffer catastrophic failure when the supply products were less than ideal. It didn't help that the upper management(u.m) typically forced set-speed equipment(a safety feature) to go faster than designed. It took more than a few near fatal accidents to get the u.m. to leave the speed as set.
