"Shout" is a song by English pop/rock band Tears for Fears, released as the second single from their second studio album, Songs from the Big Chair (1985), on 19 November 1984. Roland Orzabal performs lead vocals on the track. The single became the group's sixth UK top 40 hit, peaking at No. 4 in January 1985. In the US, it reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on 3 August 1985 and remained there for three weeks. "Shout" would ultimately become one of the most successful songs of 1985, eventually reaching number 1 in multiple countries. "Shout" is regarded as one of the most recognizable songs from the mid-eighties and is also recognized as the group's signature song, along with "Everybody Wants to Rule the World".

This song takes me back to my childhood. My mom would play, still to this day, 80's music during a car ride or we went to the laundry mat. My mom is the reason I love 80's music and some 90's music too. It kind of brings back nostalgic memories.

I lived (and loved) in Belgium during the 70s, 80s and part of the 90s - every single party I was then plaid that anthem and everybody literally everybody shouted like rebels who suffered too much - then at the end of the song everybody would go back to his/her predictable life feeling a little bit relieved and... submissive to the existing system
