Definitely agree with you Mr. Spaghetti, I got my 02 Toyota Echo in 2020 for $400 CAD, that's $295 usd. Can't even fathom spending $40k+ for new vehicle let alone the $100k+ that some trucks go for now.

I did the new car thing before, just didnt see the point. I been driving a 1990 silverado i bought for $300 back in 2009. Greatest most reliable vehicle i ever owned. Last year i bought another 1990 cause that one is getting pretty rusty and is going to fall apart soon

That's exactly the reason why I tell people that always ask me well what car is most reliable to get, I always say the one you change the oil and check the tire pressure on and wash it, you do those three things and you will surpass a significant number of people on vehicle reliability and repair shop trips.

For years I always bought nice shit, brand new full loads, or prime used stuff. The past 3 years I’ve been driving units that are less than 3k. It’s the best, I can hit shit and not care at all. No payments, minimal maintenance.. I’ll never go back unless I come into a stupid amount of money.

Problem is that used cars retain so much value because it’s a more competitive market. A 3-4 year old car with 50k miles costs the same as new.

its how I got a real nice car for a big ol discount. If you can find someone that treated it decently before you get you're hands on it then you're golden

I was surprised that my 18 sierra rwd single cab uhaul truck hasn't had too many issues. Has a lot of engine hours on it but shifts good and hasn't given me a issue outside of general maintenance bought It was 25k km on it in 19 or 20. Now has 70k

Pay cash for your used car & live a better life. Never go in debt for a depreciating asset. Make your life easier not harder.

I daily a car I bought for 500 bucks lol only needed shift cables at the time 20 dollar part ac works ps works windows work since owning it I put a distributor on it that's it. Other than that it's just been maintanance, front brakes, wore out ball joint(car has 230k miles), timing belt, and a clutch cause I learned stick in it and trashed it🤣🤣

It costs more to finance used cars. Not everyone has the means or know-how (or time) to do their own maintenence.

Yeah reliable now… I bought a new 2020 Camry less than 3 years later transmission out! $5000 job (for a used one ☝️) it’s true that I put quite bit of miles on it (117k in almost 3 years) but still…
