I made a music video for "Veridis Quo", edited using footage from Daft Punk's 2006 short film "Electroma".

Thanks for watching :)

Hi! I hope you’re all well.
This video is 8 years old now and I’m still a bit bewildered by the view count (nothing you make at 15 years old should be seen by THAT many people) but I do love reading comments about how the video has connected with people - I’ve read some really touching stories here. Of course, most of the credit goes to Daft Punk - I stole their song AND their movie, all I can claim is the editing. So thanks for that, guys. Miss ya.

I’m going to do something a little frowned upon now and engage in some shameless self-promotion. I hope you don’t mind, if you’re not in the mood for that just ignore this and read on. Many things happened in the 8 years since I released this, one big thing being that I, inspired by the robots and many other artists, started making music of my own - under the name “Telegraph Hill”. A couple days ago, I released my first EP. If you like your music to occupy the same sort of nostalgic, synthy late night melancholy as Veridis Quo, this EP may be your thing! Give it a shot if you’re in the mood.

You can listen to it on Spotify here:
and on other Music Services here:

Thanks for watching, and (hopefully!) for listening. All the best.

Daft Punk didn't die, they simply became music.

"Veridis quo" is a wordplay on the Latin phrase "Quo vadis?", literally, "Whither goest thou?" or "Where are you going?".

when my little daughter was crying hysterically, I turned on this music for her, after a couple of minutes she calmed down and fell asleep, the magic of music, thanks Daft Punk❤

RIP #shakara21

A 19-year-old Giorgi Shakarashvili’s body was found in the river Aragvi after a four-day search, on June 22. He went missing while at a friend’s birthday party early on June 19. An autopsy has shown that he was beaten by 6 people who drowned him in the river. Several days before his death, he told to one of his friends that this song makes him happy. We love you and we will demand justice 4u❤️

As an American, I was unaware of the news of poor Shakara. I simply came here to listen to a great song, but left with a whole new demeanor. I'm saddened to hear about the tragic death of this young man. I did not know him nor much about his country of Georgia, but the overwhelming support I see for him makes me deeply saddened for his family and people of Georgia. I understood this was his favorite song. All I have to say is, I will never look at this Daft Punk song the same way again... Rest in peace, Shakara.

the fact that so many people think this is an official video speaks volumes about how well it was edited

Like others have said - it's pure melancholy. I have always loved this song but it evokes a deep sadness in the depth of my soul. I'm now in my 50s and this inexplicable feeling when i listen to this track makes me feel a sense of regret and sadness about my life that is not justified. It always brings me back to source - a sense of collective empathy. Thank you Daft Punk

Rest in peace SHAKARA ! 🧡🇬🇪
მშვიდად განისვენე, ანგელოზო💗
ყოველთვის მემახსოვრები (განსაკუთრებით ამ მუსიკის მოსმენისას) შენ და შენი ცისფერი, სიკეთით სავსე თვალები 💙

This song sounds like the end of all the music. It introduces people to nostalgia, to good nostalgia.

This song was always making me very sad.
And today I am even crying meanwhile listening to it... This was a song which was making one 19 years old boy happy. he was brutally murdered days ago. "Veridis Quo" young boy? It's too early 😞

The melody makes me sad, but the understanding that this was the last favorite music of a 19-year-old boy who was brutally killed, makes me even more sad, that I want to cry.
