One of HHH's best matches ever. He was pulling out power moves and submissions he'd never used before.

A forgotten Classic. This match shits on a lot of matches we get today that are called 5 star matches

This match was literally a match between power houses and technical wrestlers and I was surprised when I first saw this on VHS of how technically sound Triple H really was as he put on a spectacle against a technical genius in Benoit. You could literally look at that match over and over and you could say that it goes beyond what we see today when we call something a five star match this is literally the entire scale from start to finish as both men threw everything at each other.

I never seen HHH using a Muta Lock, and Chris Benoit used a Dragon Suplex in this company

Very underrated match. Benoit was without question one of the top heels at the time, and this match was set up when Chris headbutted Stephanie after losing a World Title match to The Rock on RAW.
The thing is, the storytelling throughout the match is beautiful: Triple H wants to hurt Benoit for attacking Steph, but he knows how tough Benoit is, so in order to beat him, he has to do something seemingly impossible: he has to outwrestle Chris, and for most of the first half of the match he does it, but as time goes by, he can't beat Benoit and his stamina fades away, so Benoit gains control of the match without mounting too much offense compared to Hunter, but everything Chris did caused a lot of damage to Triple H. It turned into a see-saw match for most of the second half, but Benoit mostly dominated from there.
Triple H beating Benoit with Stephanie's interference was good for the story: the McMahon-Helmsley couple get their revenge but in the process it protected Chris as a serious threat since it took outside interference for Hunter to beat him.

This is my favourite version of Triple H. Him and Rock were going hard every week in 2000

Hhh physique is unbelievable way back same goes to benoit and i think his physique really compromises his lack of ability in character work so i love how wwe still featured him in high caliber feuds.

HHH in 2000 every PPV was a classic his matches were the best of the night the only weak ppv was King of the ring which he lost the belt to rock because Vince got pinned Undertaker, kane and Rock vs Vince, Shane and HHH

Im in no way shape or form saying this is the greatest match ever, but it is the best I’ve seen with my eyes by far. Just saw the whole thing im surprised its rarely talked about.

Holy smokes I remember those dragon suplexes... Imagine doing that maneuver but with the FullNelson part of it completely locked in, the recipient's neck is as good as broken. But Benoit in this match releases the full Nelson and pretty much throws HHH onto his face. Just more head trauma for the Rabid Wolverine
