- loses her comfort (hotel/ vacation)
- loses her autonomy (forced to „bond“ with strangers within a few weeks)
This girl has her life ripped from beneath her feet within a few months and the dad is so blind in his delirious happiness that he can’t understand why she doesn’t want to live with a random child and strange woman (while she’s deeply grieving no less)
100% agree on the dad probably screwing the new woman before mom was dead

Story 3: From what I remember, the daughter calls her uncle who comes to get her. OP is at a loss because he doesn't understand why his daughter is upset nor does he take in the comments calling him out as a bad father. That trip that they're supposed to take, that was supposed to be just OP and his daughter, to mourn the loss of her mother, but instead OP tried to force the blended family issue.

Story 2: so your BF hands were so burned that he couldn’t move his fingers. But you his GF told him that through the pain so you can get off? Most people probably told him to go to the hospital or at the very least go get some burn cream, or even having them go to his boss and this happened twice. Plus OP mention he worked for hours after getting injured, which most definitely sounds like a lawsuit.
But not you, because the important thing was you get off before bed.

Of course the 17 year old has love and wants to keep memory of her dead mom. A year isn’t much for a kid to fully process that their mom is gone, and OP just wants to push her into this “new family” before she can even grow a full bond with her new mom and brother?

For the last story- OP's wife is 2 WEEKS postpartum. Her body is still recovering from the birth. The fact that OP is more concerned about weight loss than his wife's comfort is very telling. Also, guess what? Feet grow during pregnancy due to loosening ligaments. A lot of times, they dont go back to their original size! The swelling should go down as she recovers, but there's a good chance her feet will stay bigger, regardless of how much weight she could lose. OP is disgusting and selfish.

Story 2: I worked McDonald's for close than a year, and those burns are NASTY. They hurt like absolute hell, oil burns are already horrible as they are but if you add the salt of the fries, plus the heat lamp you have to work under-- it's a pretty hot heating lamp-- you basically got steaks for hands. Plus they will not usually let you go run them under cold water, because you just gotta keep working. The hands are already sore from working the shift, plus they're burnt-- pretty nastily and not taken care of I'm sure-- aaand she's asking for him to put those hands in a basically acidic solution that is so acid it can and will bleach fabric? What the hell?

Update to story 3: Dad realizes that he's the AH, though still seems to be blind to why. He mentioned about having two vacations, one with the entire family and the other with just Emily and him. Nothing on trying to find better living arrangements so his daughter can have the privacy she deserves, nothing about not kicking her out at 18, nothing about her having her own room (paid for) on vacation, etc. He further mentions that they will be remaining in the 2B2B house because they can't afford to move despite two incomes... and people commenting are pointing out that he expects Emily to somehow afford to be on her own when OP can't afford something better despite added income. He's clueless.

Story 6: So OP doesn't want his wife to wear the larger shoes because he sees them as a pointless purchase, but at the same time he complains about having to see her swollen feet.
Pick one, OP! Do you want her to wear shoes or not, because she can't wear smaller shoes for a while! Also, she could actually be wanting to go work out and needs those shoes to do so, so OP basically ruined that.
And that doesn't even go into the credit card thing, that's financial abuse OP just threatened.

Story 3: DUDE! When I lost the friend I considered to be a brother, it took me 2-3 YEARS to fully mourn his death (suicide). It's been 6 years since his passing, and I still miss him like hell, but I no longer cry when I think about him. I can't believe OP got remarried within 9 months of his wife's passing.

Story 3: OP expects her to move out on her own, and you expect her to be okay with you paying for only HALF for the room because you wanted to take Eli to Legoland. Seeing that you clearly expect her to move out on her own and expect her to just cave when you said you'll pay for only half of the room. You clearly love Emily less, don't try and sugarcoat it OP.

I'm mixed on Story 1.
Girlfriend attacked the mom, so she had some kind of resistance coming, but also, by the way OP worded everything, made it sound like he was kinda happy/relieved to have an excuse to beat the sh out of the girlfriend.
I don't really think this belongs in AITD as much as the other stories here (if at all).
