17 days trapped: How did they survive? | DW News

The workers had been stuck underground for seventeen days, after a landslide closed off the tunnel entrance.
Rescuers had to drill through rock, earth and concrete to reach them, before pulling the men to safety through a pipe.

Indian lady journalist there failed to be comprehensive there, despite being explicitly asked. She could have mentioned that: a walkie talkie and medical (endoscopic) camera was inserted through a 6 inch wide pipe and that's how the rescue workers and doctors talked to the stranded people inside.

German, American and Swiss rubbish drilling equipment did not help the trapped workers, it was good old elbow grease and crawling men that busted through the treacherous debris and rescued all miners
