Intro to Math Modeling: More about exponential growth

This lesson looks at fitting an exponential growth model to idealized data using two methods. We start with a direct approach, solving for the growth rate and initial population. Then, we employ a logarithmic transformation, converting our exponential model into a linear form. This approach simplifies the process, especially with non-ideal data. We further discuss the importance of logarithmic plots in identifying exponential growth patterns, emphasizing their utility in interpreting real-world data like COVID-19 case numbers.

Summary of ideas: Fitting an exponential model to data, generating the exponential using a line of best fit, judging when exponential growth is happening (compared with sub- and super-exponential growth).

Thank you, great explication ! This technique works only for exp models? I mean if we have several pairs of x y ( > 2 so it's not a line !) how would we find a function fitting it ?
