China Evergrande could not pay interest even if it sells $1.7billion worth of bank stock. Evergrande is unable to pay $ 83.5 million and $ 47.5 million in dollar bond interest scheduled for the 23rd and 29th of last month. And more bigger amount of interests are waiting the time comes to pay on this month. Evergrande Group's financial affiliates could pay only 10% of principal and interest to investment product holders at maturity, and could not pay the remaining 90% too. Shengjing Bank, which is under their umbrella, would be sold for US$1.7billion, but the funds were used to repay the money borrowed from Shengjing Bank itself and were not used for interest payments at all. Their bankruptcy announcement, may be a matter of time.
