I haven't followed this case but must say the mayor's public statement is lacking in credibility and downright cringe-worthy. She comes across as not just defiant but trying to wear the cloak of victimhood with this weirdly insincere set of remarks.

So, a Vietnamese American named Duong who came here in 1979 and still has a business in Vietnam may have contributed to various city council members and other politicians to be allowed to buy land owned by Oakland for his business. He also overcharged some businesses for services and it was resolved this year. It seems like Duong is the nexus of the FBI investigation.
