Wonder Woman made me cry in the cinema, because I was so proud. The moment when she ran across the battlefield and the music started playing, I lost it. I had chills and it was beautiful.

i understand that people complain about her exaggerated feminine features but, to be fair, most male superheroes are also a male archetype

Diana by her name is associated with Artemis but in her temper and actions she's more close to Athena, the goddess of defensive and strategic war (also opposed to Ares)

I really enjoyed this. Wonder Woman's creator really was an interesting man - I would recommend "The Secret History Of Wonder Woman" by Jill Lepore, to anyone who wants to learn more about William Moulton Marston, and Wonder Woman's history.
I've been a WW fan for most of my years on this earth. But her character has been treated shoddily by DC. There were many rumours of movies that came to nothing, for decades - somehow, I became accustomed to disappointment where WW was concerned.
I went to see this last night - half-excited, half-afraid. That I would leave dismayed, and feel her character, again, hadn't been given the respect she deserved.
WELL. Gal Gadot is AMAZING. The criticisms of her when she first got the role really annoyed me - too skinny, not good looking, can't act. As always, most of it centred on how she looked (have we really moved on since the first WW comic hit the shelves in the early 1940s?!).
Are they MAD? Gal was absolutely fantastic. I came out of the cinema feeling quite emotional. Proud. Thankful that AT LAST DC GOT IT RIGHT!
I don't know why I felt so, almost, tearful - maybe some long-forgotten childhood memory? Wonder Woman taught little girls to be just as good as any man, that they had power in their femininity, that they can create change though love and kindness, but at heart they are warriors....and I have never forgotten.
All the Wonder Woman bumpf I've collected over the decades is looking over me, as I type :)

I like how she presents all this material as objectively as possible instead of taking a side on any of the political issues of the time. Very much appreciated! Keep up the good work and cant wait for your analysis when this film hits theaters!

Great historical perspective and analysis! I never knew about the 70's TV movie, with Kathy Lee Crosby. A blonde Wonder Woman? With no powers? Running a boutique?? Glad that I never knew about it. So psyched to see this newest version. Thank You!

Wanting a fun film with a message. It's time that women are allowed powerful roles.

I real enjoyed this video; Hippolyta and Gal's names were finally pronounced correctly. This bio was done very well--love it...

Thank you for this beautiful analysis of my favorite superhero! Showed the complexities of her character perfectly. The George Perez origins were mush more rooted in mythology then the original because those comics included the Greek Gods much more and the new Amazon origins which I was glad you mentioned. Explained her character perfectly.

Great video! Nice info to get us in the mood for the upcoming film. Let's hope the producers of such film took all this background into account and allowed the director to carry out her vision.

Growing up, it never even occured to me Wonder Woman never had a film. Comic books were contraband in my primary school, but that didn't stop us kiddos. Annnnd that was soos satisfying. I love how Diana just smiles. 6:43 to 6:53.

Ahhh wishful thinking here, but you should totally do a video about Xena. She was such an awesome cool badass. I never grew up with wonder woman, but watching this video makes me feel like there are some similarities there between them.
