We are enjoying his “love letter “ to his beloved wife, 536 years later . Amazing.

She was beautiful indeed. The rate of maternal and infant mortality rates during that age was truly heartbreaking.

I can feel the love that Lorenzo had for his beautiful young wife, and the loss of her death 💔

I know how he feels. Nothing worse than losing the love of your life. Nothing😭

My husband gifted me a painting of the first picture of our son when he was born. If I go before my husband, I know he’s gonna do it up for me 😭

Edit; painting was done by our friend

What is the significance of the pendant of St.Margaret off to the side? Does that just signify that she died in childbirth, or is the pendant not being worn mean something else? Im thinking that it might be a slight that she was not protected. Just a thought.

The printed captions mention "a gold brocade jorda and a toroni..." (I may not have spelled them correctly).
We English-speaking dolts don't know what those are! Could you please translate WHAT THEY ARE, and describe WHAT THEIR PURPOSE WAS?
Thank you!
I enjoy your content very much, except-- when terms with which I am unfamiliar roll off your tongue at an astounding and perplexing pace! Please cut us "only ONE LANGUAGE-SPEAKING" viewers a little slack.
Thanks to you and others, we are always learning! 😊

I wish history would distinguish between dying from a normal delivery and when they would cut the babies out to save the child. Many women, more than people think, died to save the child rather than after. The idea predates the 8th century but gets it's name from the law passed at the time. If it was thought you were dying they passed a law saying it's ok to do a cesarean.

Who was the artist? Kind of ridiculous that the artist is not mentioned.
