Ordered my sp 404 today and glad I found a solid toturial channel already, for me you hit the right flow of info which is scarse. Nailed imo with the yourney of getting to learn your piecse of gear inside out. I bought a tr8-s 2 years ago used it many many hours and im still learning stuff but its all about getting yourself to that magical moment where you feel in control of your device enough to make cool stuff with it.

Love this! Just bought one two weeks ago but have been really busy and havent gotten to mess with it yet. But i did start collecting some sample packs and sounds. Looking forward to using it but definitely intimidated by learning the workflow. Thanks for making something for the absolute beginners!

I think the dark side of tip 3 is that it's not just about learning the features, it's just as much about getting to grips with the entire workflow paradigm. Things like accepting that you have to commit to the effects and be prepared to go back more than a number of steps if it turns out you applied a bit too much reverb on that hi hat that you already resampled and printed as a stem because you had to free up the FX buses for other stuff. I find this to be the hardest part coming from the MPC and DAW workflow of working with inserts and sends. I'm not sure the SP is for me no matter how fast I get at navigating the features to be honest.

Asking what someone else likes is also cool. Being curious and listening, it can lead to you finding new music or appreciating music you wouldn't listen to and can help build a connection. Save the weirdest stuff for a third date. My last partner showed me Arca. I showed them Sunn. Both outside our usual comfort areas. But we didn't start there.
