Cavo D'oro Restaurant, Filoti, Naxos

One of my faves on Naxos Island. Cavo D'oro is tucked away way up high, right by the square in the village of Filoti. Family owned and operated, the patriarch of the family brings his vast knowledge of great food from his Greek childhood, all the way to Quebec, and back again to Naxos and Paros. This was my go-to place many a nights a couple of years ago. I was the lone tourist in the middle of winter. They fed me well, let me sit beside the woodstove for hours, and always made me welcome.
