Me and our other supervisors install these same pocket door hardware kits in all of our homes. We were just talking about finding something that can speed up the process. Yours was definitely quicker than using a knife and chisel. Great video!!

For speed I use my Cordless dewalt circular saw to do the initial 2 cuts set at the proper depth, then switch to the jig saw to finish up the cut out. Thank you as always I found some useful tips and tricks to help me with the dreaded Pocket door Hardware. Hell just the dreaded POCKET DOOR.

I have never installed a pocket door, but I can see so many uses for the router plane.
Have seen them before, but never in use.
During my first year (last year) installing custom cabinets that we also build which are 90% painted.
I have a huge tip for touching up any paint, you can buy color matched caulk from a paint store .
Perfectly matched in color and sheen for $20 per tube.
This can save yourself time and money.
Recently I had to install an 8ftx12 inch oak stained floating shelf, into an double angled corner.
Shelf was built 1 inch longer, with 2# 45° cuts.
Unfortunately 1 side was 44°, and the other was 47 resulting in it being 1/8 short in the front after scribing it in.
I cut a piece of drywall paper with wall paint on it, and had my paint store match it.
Obviously its not a super high end job, but a color matched board stretcher was super nice to have.
Thanks Spencer for another technique to add to my mental toolbox!
