Three Fun Drawing Games

Показать описание
Learn three fun drawing games with Garden Home Librarian Casey and Garden Home Library patron Jenelle. You don't have to consider yourself to be "an artist" to have fun with these games; part of the fun comes from seeing everyone's unique drawing style! All three of these games can be modified for socially-distant connection, as well as adapted for many hours of screen-free fun at home.
Here are some adaptations for each the games shown in the video:
Game 1: SCRIBBLE
*Start with smaller scribbles and see how many drawings you're able to fit on a page.
*ADVANCED: Building on the above idea, choose an ecosystem (the ocean... a forest... a city... a farm... a favorite vacation destination... a desert... a buffet... a favorite book or movie...) and transform each scribble drawing to fit into the chosen theme.
*SOCIALLY DISTANT: Send a collection of scribbles through the mail and ask your pen pal/friend/relative to play scribble with you. They can either take photos of the completed drawings and digitally send them to you, or they could return the drawings to you via mail.
Game 2: FACES
*Change the size of the group of artists participating in this game. This is an especially fun game to play with a large group of people. Everyone will start with a page of paper, and then pass it along in a circle so everyone has a chance to add to each drawing.
*ADVANCED: Try drawing a particular character together: mermaid...superhero...forest animal...your favorite book character...a character with a specific profession (like librarian!)... butterfly...tiger...etc.!
*SOCIALLY DISTANT: Fold the paper in half, vertically, and then draw half of a face. Mail/deliver the art to a pen pal and ask them to draw the other side of the face. They can take photos of the completed drawings and digitally send them to you, or they could return the drawings to you via drop-off or mail.
Game 3: HEAD-BODY-FEET
*Play the game with more people. Everyone will start with a page of paper, and then pass it along in a circle so each drawing will have at least three people adding to it.
*Try folding the paper into just two sections. Or try four sections!
*ADVANCED: Try a theme: robot...unicorn...ocean animal...monster...holiday-themed...your favorite movie character...anything you can dream up!
*SOCIALLY DISTANT: Fold the paper and then draw just one or two sections for each. Mail the art to a friend or relative and share this video with them so they'll know how to play the game with you. They can take photos of the completed drawings and digitally send them to you, or they could return the drawings to you via drop-off or mail.
