71 year old BTS Army here. Jung Kook's label announced this track as a "subtle homage to Michael Jackson". I really love listening to your breakdowns. You young people are fantastic!
At the age of seven, I began 7 years of classical piano. It was my mother's dream that I be involved in the arts. I was not meant to be a concert pianist, but I did become a clay artist, /ceramic sculptor/potter and taught in the art department at the University of Alaska. Since my mother was a soprano and involved with our local concert association, I was able to meet artists such as Leonard Bernstein, Beverly Sills, Isaac Stern, and many more. Lucky me!
This song is not Kpop and all of his other solo releases are completely American made. The only S. Korean involved with his solo music is Jung Kook. Even the choreographer/dancers are American. He stated his dream was to be a "huge pop star" and that meant the U.S. pop market and Grammy winning American songwriters, producers, recording studios, etc. This MV was filmed in Budapest Hungary at an abandoned power plant with a notable Ukranian director who directed MVs for Harry Styles and more. JK is making his dream come true!

I testify that this is the best song on the album. The singing is phenomenal, the chords in the chorus are so bombastic and I love the use that one chord outside the key - it's just so bright and adds so much colour to the song. I really like the long phrasing as well. The production is so clean. And the song structure is fresh.
