That looks more like a crack than a scratch, due to sapphire being harder that also means it is more brittle making it more sensitive to cracking and chipping.

I knew I wasn’t going to last. As I said in the last one a pure Safire screen protector may be hard to scratch but it will not be very resistant to cracking. That’s due to the fact that the harder a material is the more brittle it is. Take diamonds for example, when used with care they can cut anything including extremely hard metals and glass but if you smash it with a hammer it’s going to shatter.

That was so not a scratch. That was a hairline crack, and you can tell it’s not a scratch based on how the light refracts when you move it in front of the camera.

One important detail about sapphire glass that I didn’t hear you bring up, is that sapphire glass is extremely brittle. While it’s very scratch resistant, it is highly susceptible to cracking.

Yes, sapphire really strong against scratches, you can try to scratch a sapphire with granite and it won't even get scratches.

But, sapphire are more brittle even compare to regular (non tempered) glass, you drop your phone even from your pocket might destroy that expensive screen protector.

Something that people don't understand about glass is that there's 2 types of strength. Strength against scratches and strength against cracking... the harder and more scratch resistant it is it is also more brittle and prone to cracking like yours did because it's such a hard material. So the more shatter resistant something is the easier it will scratch and the more scratch resistant something is the easier it will crack/shatter. There is a reason why gorilla glass doesn't make the glass super hard they could do it if they wanted to but from screens would constantly be cracking and shattering all in the name of being scratch resistant.

I think that big scratch on the screen is just a hairline crack

Sapphire is very hard, which means it cant scratch, but it is more likely to crack and is more brittle

It actually only scratches at level 9, MAN you had to scratch it HARD!

Having one for 2 years. 0 cracks, 0 scratches, looks like brand new. And the feel under the fingers... Omg, night and day difference.

It might not be real sapphire (as in a scam) because sapphire has a red tint. Demolition Ranch got a huge chunk and shot it with a ton of different caliber firearms and the first few calibers didn't even scratch the sapphire so I would think that a thin piece would at least be significantly better than tempered glass but it doesn't matter since there's no point in a $100 screen protector anyway.

I have the same screenprotector. It looks after months of use, still brand new. I am very careful with my phone though. Not even microscratches, just very clear glass.

I use some wierd and cheap rubbery plastic as a screen protector and it has surprisingly lasted without scratches for a year now, im also somewhat rough with my phone.

I told you that you didn't put enough pressure on it when you tested it out in the test video

I’ve never been a fan of screen protectors, but that changed when I got a matte screen protector. They make your phone feel really nice to use and also block fingerprints and deflect bright lights so you can basically see your screen even when the sun is beaming down.

As long as you have a rugged case with a protective lip you should be fine. I’ve had Sapphire protectors last as long as the phone. And those cheap screen protectors not only break easily but they also scratch easily and have terrible oleophobic coatings and some even feel cheap.
