I haven't seen Dune, but as other commentors have said, Jedi and Sith can do the same thing. There's also force choke and lighrning among other abilities.

Actually the force has many similar abilities. Force wielders have pre cognition so they see a little bit into the future. They can do jedi mind tricks. Jedis and siths are immune to mind controll, a jedi as powerful as anakin would not be able to to be affected by dunes mind controll. Anakin solos
