Kyle Larson Harshly Critical of NASCAR While Kyle Busch Stays Quiet, Refuses to Answer Question

Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch are considered two of the best drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series garage. They have three championships between them.

While similar in their on-track success, they are dramatically different in their personalities. Busch has been outspoken throughout his career and tells you what's on his mind. Larson, not so much. He's quiet.

That's why this past weekend in Atlanta was a surprising one because the drivers seemingly reversed roles, with Larson delivering harsh remarks critical of NASCAR while the Richard Childress Racing driver stayed quiet on the same subject, actually refusing to answer a question out of fear it might get him into trouble.

I totally agree with both Kyles. Bush was right about the restart zone and Larsen was.correct about the boring racing in Atlanta.

When somebody says 'no comment' that can say a lot. The fact that Kyle Busch's 'not comment' was specifically about the track configuration tells the whole story, especially in reference to his comments from years before. Had he gone on a 2 minute tirade about the track and gotten a fine that would have been lost effort and money vs. his 'no comment' said the same thing, got TV coverage and he still has the fine in his pocket. Sounds like a good decision.

Allgaier complained about how broken Atlanta is as well. It's crazy how much hype Atlanta put into this for only to be a shitshow of a parade of actual follow the leader. The ones that complained about "strung out" racing were never a fan of racing to begin with.

If anybody knows about lack of respect it would be Mr. Kyle Busch 😊

The new Atlanta has brought fans to the track and more people watch Atlanta now. That’s a win win

Owner driver vs. non-owner driver. Not near the risk for Larson.

I know Busch has been outspoken in the past, but he has been through a lot this last year and has learned some things. I was a total Busch hater until 2015 when he overwhelmingly dominated his way to a championship after missing races from February to mid-May. He proved his talent that year, but it wasn't quite enough for me. There have been glimmers of maturity in the intervening seasons, but as I stated above, I think 2022 was a turning point for sure.

Larson is a top talent too and I was sure he was a championship-caliber driver while he was at Ganassi, but just didn't quite have from them what he needed. I thought he got a raw deal getting fired. It was more than a bit extreme in my opinion and I was pleased to see Hendrick reach out and take the risk on him. No risk, no reward. The reward was a stunning championship.

EDIT: For the record, neither are my driver or team. Just giving my opinion. Cheers

Funny how before and during the Atlanta repave they mentioned nothing of it becoming a mini Daytona. Going forward give them full horsepower and cut the spoiler down, that would be a race! So sad for Atlanta!

Kyle did point out what Denny did was dumb. Can anyone blame him or any of the other drivers especially with how NASCAR unequally enforces the rules and seems to keep their ears out everywhere?? I don't blame him at all for not wanting to say anything. If you watched as many interviews with him is I have you would notice that a lot of times the reporters ask him really stupid questions and he will respond sometimes sarcastically are won't say anything at all so he knows how to deal with these reporters a lot better than some of the other drivers in the sport.

I can't disagree with either Kyle. THe restart zone was a joke as was the racing at Atlanta. As a whole, I'm not enjoying the season so far. Between boring racing and Fox's broadcasting, it's becoming unwatchable.

The rece in Atlanta was flat, not alot of excitment.

I really miss when people could build fast race cars. Engineering, mechanics and creativity are more fun than parity. This mini Daytona stuff is really boring to watch. Just tune into the last lap.

Dang… lots of drama these days in nascar… I remember what nascar was cool. Seems like such a long time ago.

Kyle Bush realized that other drivers are so pissed that they can't hold themselves anymore and they are saying things that 10 years ago would be considered "Kyle Buch crying" comments. Kyle Bush saying that commenting on the track would put him in trouble is enough of a response. Now some of the questions he is letting some other drivers get in and leave their opinions on and it has been great. More than half of the field of the drivers hate the racing it is today. This frustration keeps building in until it explodes

Not the first time Larson disliked a track. He liked a tweet about Texas being Demolished or something I think ( my home track )

Makes me wonder what they’ll do to texas in future

There was a time when "you need us more than we need you" applied. With today's drivers and teams, how does that lack of balance apply?

nascar needs to make the track angles in the corners inverted, instead of banking, you have negative banking. ... that. that would be so interesting.
