Context for those who haven't seen the anime:

The elf girl was a member of the heroes party who killed the demon lord and the anime follows her adventures afterward once said party members are almost all dead. To my knowledge, it's not specified how long elves in this setting lived.

She and her new party were waiting in a town which served as a military checkpoint into the part of the country that is contested by remnants of the demon lords army. They were denied permission (it's rumored that people would be able to start passing through freely after two years) to go further so she was hoping to do more research for spells (which is her hobby) in the meantime. However, the towns ruling lord later learned her identity and she was wanting to pass through so he sought her out and immediately gave her permission. It should be noted she neglected to reveal her identity to the gate guards nor make any attempt to anounce herself.

Her whole attitude, if memory serves, up until this moment was "oh well, guess we'll just have to wait. I'm off to do research!" and promptly took off. This scene takes place at the moment she learns she's being given permission to pass through.

Sometimes I'm surprised by the amount of animations that's done without using CGI (or even if they did I can't noticed them)

- Hair movements
- every frames of walking and gestures (even some background characters)
- Liquids in bottles (especially the one that *only dissolve clothings* )
- Subtle hand and finger movements like this scene.
- Even clothes that get blown by winds aren't repeated animations sometimes.
