Hello guys, and welcome to TechWave! Today we’re taking a look at the LG K4 from 2017. This is one of LG’s lower-priced smartphones, yet still suitable for everyday tasks in mid-2018.

So out of the box, you’re getting the phone, a standard USB charging plug and micro-USB charging cable, as well as the standard quick-start guide that you can expect with almost any piece of technology these days.

Now, the K4 comes in at around eighty-five pounds from Amazon. I have seen that price vary both lower and higher, but this seems to be the average one. Now, for phones, that is relatively low, so the phone isn’t really packing all the much power. It has a five-inch display, as well as 5mp on both the front and rear cameras. It packs a 1.1ghz Quad-Core processor and has a removable 2500mah battery in the back.

I have found this phone actually quite a great little phone for doing basic tasks on. I can check my emails, have multiple alarms and much more without a struggle. But the real star of the show is the battery. I don’t think I’ve ever run out of power on it. I have been using it a lot recently for the purpose of this review, and I charge it at night without any power issues. I mean, you can even play some smaller and less demanding games on here without any issues.

In terms of performance, it runs all the stock apps easily and smoothly. I can play some basic games on it, and some more advanced ones. However, a lot of apps are not compatible with its low-end processor and 1gb of RAM; I tried to use DJI Go 4 on it for my Mavic with no success. It downloaded but would refuse to launch.

Now, the display has really kicked off this time compared to the later models before this. With a 5” touchscreen, surprisingly good backlighting and a screen which is more than capable at handling glare, it’s a great one to have during these bright summers days, also the phone has sensors for the auto-lighting so you can be sure you’re very power-efficient at all times. Now the 5-inch display does really make using the keyboard a lot harder to use. This might be simply because I’m used to my S7’s 5.5-inch display so I am sure that you could get used to it very quickly.

Moving on to appearance, it doesn’t look too bad really. We have a 1.5-inch bezel on both the top and bottom of the display. The front-phone speaker is located at the center-top, flanked by both the camera and lighting sensor to the left. The back is plastic and removable, emblazoned with the LG logo in the center. The speaker is on the bottom-left and easily covered if not held correctly.

And that brings us to the end of the review. To sum things up in a few words, I would say this phone is really good for beginners. This phone is really an ideal first smartphone: if you are not accustomed to smartphones, you will have no difficulties navigating through the home screens or taking notes on the smartphone.

Thank you all so much for watching, have a great day, and I will catch you guys in the next one.
