Setting up Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard (VMPK)

This is a video tutorial showing how to make a basic set-up for the virtual piano program "Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard (VMPK)". In this video I also use the program Qsynth, which comes installed by default on Ubuntu. I also used the Fluid soundfont.

The video has English captions available through the subtitles settings.

I am trying to use this program as the MIDI input for Alter Ego, but Alter Ego won't find the program. Anyone know how to help with this or if there is another program I can use that works similarly?

When I open qsynth I found this error message. Qsynth1 failed to create audio driver(jack)

Worked for me after downloading "Patchage" and connecting "VMPK output" node to "QSynth input port"

Do you know how to get VMPK to play midi instruments in Logic? I wish to replace the built-in logic musical typing keyboard because it only has an octave and a half of keys. I've setup the IAC driver and I've even setup the IAC input in Logic but in VMPK the IAC driver port does not appear in any of the midi connection drop-downs. Thanks

Please, I instaled and when i inserted reverb all ok, but, after that i canceled the reverb effect the aplication now is with bug. Explication: when i play the piano the note stay with reverb effect distorced. Help-me.

Is there any way to save / record song from VMPK? I use a keyboard to play isntruments, but I see no recording button, which makes the software completely useless.

When you edit your videos, drop them into a DAW and add a noise gate. That hissing is driving me insane.

Didn't have the FLUID option in VMPK even though the QSynth was running.

yoo, This was posted 6 years ago, so VMPK is probably much different now. Anywho, I installed it, and it gave me an application for the SETUP, aka installing it. But, after going through the setup, nothing happened. I can't find any application other than the setup :(
