Putting your Back into Solving Sudoku

Normal sudoku rules apply. Numbers outside the grid (including those on lines extending outside the grid) are X-Sums, which sum the first X digits from the clue, where X is the first digit seen. Along the grey thermos, values must increase from the bulb end. Along the pink renban lines, values must form a non-repeating consecutive sequence in any order. Along the blue region sum lines values have an equal sum N within each box they pass through. Different lines may have different values of N. Values in cages sum to the given clue.

Mark is the kind of guy that trips on a log, consequently does a cinematic sommersault followed by a superhero landing and then gets up dusting his knees saying "I'm sorry you had to witness that, my sincerest apologies."

We love you, man :)

Thanks so much for sawing your way through this logpile! I dont think ya'll knew but this is perfect timing as its my birthday today too! Sorry you had that mistake; twas a very simple error of juggling the (admittedly many) overlapping constraints. The logic was otherwise quite sound.
Cheers! 🎉🎉🎉

It's honestly very satisfying watching you find your mistake and go back and correct it. We're all human and these things happen. Love to see you work as always.

I love that this and the previous puzzle were so closely related as to have the same elements and visual theme! It was a lovely solve, Mark - I'm glad you did not injure yourself with that axe in the woodpile, and you were able to restack everything to have it all come out just right. I never mind it when you make a mistake, as I learn about how to correct my own (many) mistakes more gracefully. Thank you for this video!

I've done the puzzle and then watched the video... While working on the puzzle I spent an ungodly amount of time faffing about in the log pile, screwing the pooch several times kinda like you did. In the end I was left with that same 47 deadly pattern and the same aha moment realizing that that would be resolved by that 22 sum. Lovely puzzle and thanks for walking us through it, error and all!

wiejj, finished in 52:49 after being colourblind on the renban from r9c5 to outside the grid and having to backtrack to that point from somewhere near finish :(

The doubler puzzle was more fun to me, but this one was as nicely produced with lots of fun pairs and tricks popping up. And as long as you read the rules and colours correct it was very much approachable, not easy, but fun.

Thank you @Rockratzero for the puzzle and thank you @Mark for the video!

I think that's probably the silliest rubric I've seen on the channel. I loved it.

This and the previous puzzle were actually part of a whole raft of puzzles, constructed in response to a Monthly Prompt on the discord. The prompt was to design a puzzle following the theme, and following previous puzzles, with the theme being the tree shape you all saw yesterday.

Somehow I managed 15:24 for my solve time on this one, much faster than I expected! Really interesting puzzle, props to Rockratzero!

Whoa, I am happy with myself for not giving up (for the second time today). I thought I could not do it. But I did it 🎉! Thanks Mark! 😊

Finished in 17:11. Seems pretty straightforward. Though there are a lot of little lines which you can easily mess up in.

Give it a try!

24:49. I didn't use the 16 clue at all, but it was a lovely puzzle and I love how it stayed on theme!

Another approachable puzzle that was a fairly relaxing solve. 21:16 solve time.

27:06 for me. Very cute follow up to yesterday's theme!

Two powerful and beautiful logic steps that Mark missed:
*r8c7 = 8*
*r7c8 = r6c9 = 7*

Interesting to see Mark and I start the puzzle at opposite sides of the grid.

Great solve. Never mind about the mistake, despite rewinding what felt like half the puzzle you still flew through the end. And besides I like to be reminded sometimes that CTC is still comprised of fellow humans 😂

An incredibly intricate puzzle. Loved it.

Good level of difficulty. It seemed quite intricate and tricky so was surprised it only took me about half an hour. Thanks.
