How to create bouncy waves on short hair with the Dyson Airwrap™ multi-styler

A step-by-step tutorial on how to create bouncy, loose waves on a short bob. Using the Dyson Airwrap™ multi-styler’s Coanda smoothing dryer (engineered to quickly prepare the hair for styling) – and 30mm barrel (creates voluminous curls and waves in both directions).

00:07 Start with towel-dried hair
00:12 Apply your favourite styling product
00:15 Comb mid-lengths and ends with the Detangling comb
00:19 Attach the Coanda smoothing dryer
00:25 Select Drying mode
00:30 Choose high speed, high heat
00:37 Pre-dry hair
00:47 Divide hair into sections
00:52 Attach the 30mm barrel
00:57 Stay at high speed, high heat
01:00 Start on the bottom left section
01:04 Wrap a small piece of hair around the barrel, leaving out the ends
01:07 Hold in place until dry
01:10 Set with Cold shot for 5-10 seconds
01:14 Slowly release curl
01:19 Change airflow direction and repeat on the next piece (switching directions creates a natural look)
01.34 Repeat around the head, alternating the airflow direction each time
01:54 Choose high speed, medium heat
01:57 Wrap fringe around the barrel, away from your face
02:05 Set Cold shot for 5-10 seconds
02:14 Separate curls with your fingers
02:22 Before and after

Some conventional heated wands can create tight, flat curls. The Dyson Airwrap™ multi-styler uses Enhanced Coanda airflow to create curls and waves in both directions, using one barrel. Switch airflow direction as you style using the rotating cool tip.

1:05 shouldn’t it attract the hair, or are we supposed to wrap it round and hold in place like a basic wand? I have the latest model and find it frustrating when trying to create the curls, as it does not properly attract the hair and then it gives the volume but without any curl 😢
