Guys don’t ridicule the metric system. We’re sadly one of only three or four countries which don’t use it. Saying it was 6.25 meters and then following up with “it’s a little over six feet, it doesn’t really matter”. Yes it does matter. It was one centimeter higher than the previous world record. Not half an inch higher..

Kind an embarrassing that these two talk about the athletes and really not seeing or even knows the rules of the sport. First as many mentioned, please join the rest of the world with the metric system at least go all in. You are using some already as cc when talking about engines and some other. Then he talked about the clapping, have they seen triple jump, long jump, javelin throw, high jump to name a few… I guess they haven’t 😆

It is great Mondo gathers the interest but having these two to talk on behalf of sport illustrated and not make more reading about the sport … embarrassing

US, Myanmar. Liberia. Welcome to the world of imperial measurements, US is an very important country but Americans looks like fools when they defend Mikes, Feet, Inches… there are 6.7Billion people using the metric system and 350 million or do using the imperial

This is why, as a Swede, I usually steer clear of discussing American football (sorry, just 'football, ' right?!).

Sports Illustrated just illustrated something funny while talking about pole vaulting.

Not to be harsh, but it was pretty amusing—especially considering the stereotype that Americans aren't always well-versed in things outside their own domain. (You really didn’t need to reinforce that one here, you know.) 😉 Couldn’t help myself, sorry. (Just saying, please read up on the subject - The rest of the world actually expext you to do that you know)

Just to be clear, I’m not saying you guys are clueless, but you’ve got to admit that it’s a bit ironic to show this level of ignorance on a platform like Sports Illustrated, which you'd think would be a beacon of sports expertise, right?!

That said, I love your commentary and don't fault you for not knowing everything. Just saying, this is why I, as a Swede, avoid talking about 'football.' (That’s why I always read up on the subject I'm going to talk about before I go on air.) / Cheers from Sweden!

Why doesn't the US switch to the metric system? So strange that they want to keep such an unclear and imprecise measurement system... when everyone else in the world, except Burma and Liberia, uses the metric system.
These poor men don't even know how high 6.25 is! But talking about it like it's the rest of the world's problem!!!

what are these? They know nothing about the sport and taking guesses? 😅😅

Kinda embarrassing that people that work for SPORTS Illustrated are saying “yeah, I barely pay attention to track”

Worst track commentators ever... especially Mitch, "6.25 meters, does anyone even know what that means? " He makes S.I. look incompetant. Oh, BTW, it means 20 ft 6in! 😮

A quick google would answer the question as to why people are allowed to skip jumps 🤷‍♂️

Most difficult sport in Olympics is pole vault. It is above olympics when it comes to difficult. It is also scary.
