you be surprised how realistic this is. Especially in defense industry, the US government put two company to compete with each other. So a contract is completed, the entire engineering team basically get fired by company#1, go to company#2. Then after company#2 finish the contract and fire the entire engineering team only for them to go to company#1 again. Even though is two different companies, is the same engineers competing with themselves.

It's nothing, once my ex boss invited me to the party with my ex colleagues (I haven't worked there for 2 years at the moment), she wanted to remember how good I was at work and to introduce me to the other new team members, she said that they couldn't find a replacement for me for a year or so, but then the best thing she could remember about my UNreplaceable skills was when I bought her some food when she was busy working and when I did the same for some other people at work, like a security guy. She couldn't remember anything else, so I decided to bomb, like Ef that, I don't work here anymore 😂
I said - Oh yeah, remember when I had to pick up some sh1t from your car and bring to you? Or when I had to bring those documents to the other department? Yes, it's hard to replace me, I'm glad you did it finally 😂
The reality - I bought her food at times when I had finished my work, so I was free to do anything else.
I was a Lead Editor, plus I did some other stuff not related to my main job like - video editing, some 3d visualizations, and it was only me at the team who did it, other people stuck to doing their actual job, not IT related, lol, but all she remembered was me buying her food 😂
