before it painters were so immersed in the constructed idea of art being a represantation instead of something of its own that it took photography to shatter their concept of art for them to create art from zero and discover it as something of its own

the problem comes when ai art is copying artist's styles

Art is meaning but above all is expression. AI is decoration, usless explanation, sentimentality, meaningless description... It is addressed to the common sense, this suffocated artificial reality... So yes, art will prevail. Best wishes. 5:47

As long as humans exist there will always be art

Thank you for sounding out your opinion about this matter, it's such an eye opener to hear and listen to people's opinions about ai art in different perspectives.

Really interesting perspective! I've been thinking mostly about movie and TV writers and how when people watch something that seems like it was written by AI (take the movie Wish for example), they don't accept it. That makes me hopeful. I know AI won't replace real human artists in terms of quality, but with the profit motive inherent to capitalism, corporations don't care about quality. That's why it's great to see people rejecting AI generated arts.

You claim that ai cant create new meanings without an argument.

How is that true? We are not magical oracles getting ideas from god. We live to experience, digesting ideas, letting them grow inside us like a coral reef of thoughts that once alive now layer in the dark to be the ground for new ones to sprout. Thinking new thoughts is linking, modifying, solving - and even if its hard to later trace down it is nevertheless made of puzzles, in steps. AI in principle can do all that.

Imo its naive to escape the question of what our human art means in the advent of ai - by saying that "we are still special, dont think about it". Even if maybe because of your non-materialist views or other you don't see us humans as very intricate but still machines - ask a thought-experiment question: "What if all we are is conscious machines? What if you can recreate something similar: thinking, creating, feeling, but inside a computer?"
