I am a Medical Lab Scientist and I am also a Certified Quality Specialist. I am transitioning to a CRC very soon. Hope that I am prepared.

Worst PI I ever worked for delegated everything to me from writing medical school recommendation letters on his behalf (for people I had never met), to completing SAE reports (study for blood thinner and the SAE reports wanted a determination if bleed was IP related). The only time I can recall him doing anything on his own was when he signed a conflict of interest form and did not list any financial conflicts (which was bullshit, cause we were running nonstop industry sponsored clinical trials). The man knew how to bring in studies, and then do absolutely none of the work on them. He was a very nice man, but a complete nightmare to work for.

I have a question for anyone who landed a career in the clinical research field. I am interested in becoming a CRC. I was just wondering, even though it wasn't mentioned in the video that was posted I'm curious about if I would have to take any prerequisite classes or courses. I took it upon myself to take a job as a retail pharmacy technician in training since clinical research pertains to knowledge of medicine and working with the FDA to get new medicine to market. I've also had a pretty lengthy track record as far as working in the medical field. I'm working two jobs currently as a medical assistant for podiatry and as a pharmacy technician in training. I love being a medical assistant the job is straightforward especially since I already have experience and knowledge in the field. The new job I have as a medical assistant was easy for me to catch on, however, the pharmacy job that I have I hate it. With a passion I just can't stand it. I'm just looking for advice because my next move is possibly to just end my job as a retail pharmacy technician in training, even though they provide courses and pay for your board certification exam. Should I stick it out? Is it even necessary or worth the hassle?

If no credentials are required then I don’t understand why do I get rejected
I have coauthored two publications
I know the basics of research and I think I can be a good fit for the position of CRC
Applied to many hospitals in US but always end up getting rejected

Hey Dan,
Ive been a coordinator for about 3 years now and am wondering what opportunities could I have aside from being a CRA? Also i have thinking about living abroad and traveling and was wondering if you know of any companies that have coordinators travel internationally. I like what I do but I am getting bored of where I live. Thank you for all your videos.
