Since Elegoo sponsored this, they should've timed it with having actual units available for purchase

That's actually crazy, the sheer size alone makes me want one. Would love to see a comparison of quality on prints from this and the Prusa XL whenever that releases.

Picked up my Neptune 3 Pro a few weeks ago after seeing your video. Been SO happy with it (and got like... 3 other people to buy them). Elegoo is just doing it better. When I upgrade my resin printer I'll definitely be getting one of theirs as well. Insanely good prints right out of the box.

This is awesome! I’m so impressed with Elegoo lately. I just bought some of their FDM filament for the first time and it’s so good, I can’t believe the quality you get for the price

the shear size alone is impressive.. this will open up new items one can print as a whole instead of having to make it in pieces.. congrats on the new printer and best of luck with it for yah

i got the tronxy x5sa a little over a year ago and having such a large build volume is so amazing. sure most of the things ive made would fit on a normal sized i3 (and many on a voron 0.1), but those moments when you really just want something massive, not having to slice it into pieces and try to glue it is amazing

I’ve been waiting for this video. The printer seems great and I’m patiently waiting for it to come back in stock!

Damn, Elegoo is just killing it. I just bought a CR-10s Pro V2 to start replacing my old CR-10's but I think my next printer will be the Neptune 3 Max.

Nice to see some other manufacturers making large form factors. Been using the Creality S500 which I upgraded for years, 500x500x1000... however now for large form factor going to corexy (ratrig) just due to the amount of space the bed slingers need to sling.

Been using a Creality CR10 5S for years. Having a large scale printer is a great addition and time saver.

Oh my, that size is amazing! I wish I had room for one of those babies! For those who love props, I suggest visiting Props and Beyond. That printer would be a nice upgrade to what I already have!

Ours comes in to the shop today or tomorrow! Our CNC machine build area is 16x16x16 so we plan on using it for prototyping for automotive fabrication/carbon fiber molds. Very excited about it!

When dealing with large nozzle prints, you (very) quickly run into the maximum amount of plastic the hot-end can melt (Referred to as volumetric flow). CNC kitchen has lots of in depth videos on how to understand this and deal with it, and how to overcome it.
That said, even 50 mmps print speed (25 cubic mm/second) with 0.4mm layers is faster than I'd ever print. I normally target around 12-15 cubic mm/second with normal hot-ends.

Nozzle speeds should be dictated by flow rate. For a hotend like that, you want to limit to 12-15 mm3/s which will be much slower than you think for a 0.8mm nozzle. You CAN up your temp but if the printer does slow down it can be problematic.

That printer is MASSIVE and really glad to see your thoughts on it!

I've never had a FDM printer but this one is tempting. Not only to print bases (like many do instead of using Resin) but also armor/weapons that could be done in 1-2 prints.

Yes, big nozzles require a big heater too, what's that heater rated for? I do 0.8 nozzles on my machines and you definitely print a bit slower with those big beads! But, the advantage is you can greatly reduce print times with less perimeters needed. For armor and such, I use a 0.25 layer resolution. Also, why type of nozzles does the Neptune use? E3D style?

i you could buy just one... would you pick Neptune 3 max or the Neptune 4 max?

Interesting. I wouldn't think the prints would come out that nice throwing such a huge bed around
