Daisy made a clown of herself when she said the term Mary Sue was sexist. And now she doubles down...

To be fair, Theory, she acknowledged "some" criticism by fans that may not have liked a female protagonist (you estimated 0.1% of the fandom). She said "No, no, no. I know that SOME people have expressed themselves negatively..." She didn't grab a giant paint brush and paint us all in that color. She's not gaslighting us like Disney SW higher-ups. She even reiterates that "overall, I've been very well received." No need to "lose it" on her for being barraged with this line of questioning every time she's interviewed by these shill reporters. Blame the media for always trying to stir up conflict; not the actress who's trying to navigate through the questions intent to rile you up.

Why does everything always have to come down to an uncontrolled factor of a person?
Instantly assuming someone's dislike of the character is down to a sexist viewpoint, is in itself a sexist thing to assume. It makes you sexist to assume that.

I very well could be missing something but the comment didn't seem that bad or like it was pushing some agenda. I feel like the only reason she even mentioned "some men" was because the question mentioned "violence". Obviously as we're all aware, some Star Wars fans (very likely being dudes have sent death threats or other horrible comments to actors they disliked (ex: Moses Ingram) which in turn shines a bad light on us fans that have genuine criticisms of the writing. Daisy's statement (at least at face value for me) seems to just suggest she's experienced something similar. There doesn't seem to be any mention of "all men" or any "agenda" being pushed. I think most of us are tired of little snippets/sound bytes being extrapolated out of context to push some larger agenda (not to say that Theory here is doing that necessarily) or make assumptions when maybe some shouldn't be made. I just feel like there's bigger fish to fry and spending too much time reading into a couple sentences can be counter productive for our collective goals as fans. Just my two cents!
