I think the justification of Orlando being higher then us is easily because there is no competition in the eastern conference. Therefore they can easily make it to the playoffs, and that is a higher marker for success as far as GMs are concerned. Versus Rockets who has to fight for every game, and are in a very loaded Western conference where the competition is so tight 1 game makes a HUGE difference. Look at some of the major publications, and you see the Rockets barely making it to the play-ins. I know they shouldn't take into account these things, but lets face it that's just how they typically vote. Look at past votes for certain accolades if your team isn't even in the playoffs no one votes for you even if x player is balling out.

Rockets being behind Orlando is GMs simply thinking Banchero is a generational superstar type talent. No one actually thinks Franz has superstar potential(most would prob say all star) and no one else on the roster has superstar potential. The rockets have two guys that have actual superstar potential and the complimentary pieces absolutely put them over the top over Orlando...

The Ringer wrote an interesting article about the Rockets that I think plays into the GM narrative. Rockets have so many guys that have high upside all star/super star potential but they are all poised to bang into each others potential. As a result, many of them might not reach their full potential because of how crowed the team is currently. Additionally, I think amount of contracts coming up at around similar years is tough. I think Reed is likely the best 1-2 players in this draft but I'm not sure he is going to be given the keys enough to go out and be a super star at this point. Just look at how Wemby and Paolo had so much run way. I think that plays into why those team were voted higher. Their guys were given a clear path to achieving super stardom.

Personally I'd love to see Reed chucked in there if Fred doesnt run but preseason should be about getting continuity so I'd rather we just run our best 5 most of the first half.. 2nd half we can mess around and throw some Thon Maker at the PG at them 👍

Sick of people saying OKC have the best young core, Shai is 26, that’s not young. They have Chet and Jdub who are young and stars everyone else is average to okay with no star potential or 25 and older which isn’t young anymore. Should be for players 23 and under, from 24 you’re entering your prime

I think Amen will start at pg, because Ime said it himself when he said Amen is his play everywhere fill in whenever someone is out. As to why they GMs chose Orlando over the rockets, well the Rockets have the better young talent and it's really not even close, but the Orlando young core has already made the playoffs and that gives the the edge.

I am sure that GM Stone have voted for Orlando having best young core. Because the Magic -100 percent - would give max rookie extension next year to Banchero who is their best young talent. And they have already extended F.Wagner's contract worth at least 224 million dollars for 5 years. Did any young rocket achieve this?
