This is the worst part about building a gaming PC

Prawn here with a rant about my least favourite part of building PCs. It's not the front panel connectors.

I broke down and bought the Corsair icue Link stuff. Expensive but makes it nice to just connect the cables and fans to each other.

I bought all Lian Li products for my all white build, based on your reviews; Case (011D Evo RGB), fans (SL-Inf: reverse and normal), PSU (Edge 1300w) and AiO (Hydroshift 360R.) Everything worked perfectly, 11 fans daisy-chained easily, they look beautiful and are quiet. The entire build came together smoothly and has been running without any issues, even with their supposed notoriously bad software L-Connect 3.

Thank you for your videos on those products, happy I went with all those parts. The worst part about building for me is the fear of damaging something, although I have built computers for many people over 25 years, that initial startup gets the heart pumping. Oh... and tiny cases, that stuff bothers me a lot, lol.

P.S. Open RGB can be useful if the program has your products. Also I set my Corsair ram to "Device memory mode" aka hardware lighting so I don't have to deal with iCue.

on that case( light base 900/600) you plug all the fans into the hub built into the top and bottom of the back of the case. then the top hub plugs into the motherboard for argb synchronization and in the bios you set the motherboard to control ram and gpu rgb.

Could you do a video for optimzing PC's, the bios, windows setting and nvidea setting etc. please. Great content btw! built my first PC thanks to your videos.

To get all white static lighting when using a Gigabyte vision board, Fury RGB ram, Lian Li and Fractal RGB fans and Fractal case RGB. I need Signal, RGB fusion, Armory crate, Fury CTRL AND iCue to get it to work. If any of these programs is removed, no bueno. FIVE programs! Not to mention the time taken to trouble shoot it to this point. Could we have and industry standard?

Same, icue dosen't play nice with mystic light. Months of trial and error, and still have to open icue (every boot) for proper RAM lighting. Lconnect was difficult, TL LED, LCD, both strimmer cables, and GA 2 Performance AIO. Your videos helped with 95% of the problems. Thank you

Things I hate:

1. cable management.
2. RGB yeah, it can be annoying.
3. Those little connectors you mentioned.

Amazing! I thought I was the only one struggling with 3 PIN RGB connectors!

This is why I now only build with Fan/RGB controller so I can mount it to the back, route all cables to 1 box and use 1 app to control all fans and colors (other than RAM). This does mean you’re limited to buying AIOs and other RGB case accessories from 1 vendor (I use NZXT currently). A little annoying, but I gave up on mix n matching. Also, i had a build randomly crashing with a hardware error one time - turned out to be some non-brand RGB strips I’d connected to the MOBO. Now I connect absolutely nothing to the MOBO other than CPU/Pump fan. Everything else goes to a controller. So I agree 100%! 😀

(I lied. Even my AIO is connected to the controller. I’ve disabled CPU/pump monitoring in the bios so I can boot without errors) 😀

After watching your video on the iCue link system I tested my learning on my recent PC build. Thanks for all the tips 😊👍🏿.

I like the iCue link app, especially the ability to create layers for RGB lighting patterns

Honesty really hope the lian li x signal rgb collab is good because if it launches well that means i dont have to run 4 different rgb programs that dont like each other

I have a gigabyte board and I got annoyed by the control centre and just used signalRGB instead

Totally agree on the JRGB header. I absolutely hate this connector. Yeah there was a time where the case connector was the worst but a lot of cases have complete plugs these days. JRBG on the other hand, yikes. I just did a new build and the only thing going wrong was me bending some of the mainboard JRPG pins. So annoying. After that I went full Lian Li and got a Galahad II Trinity and Infinity fans, all connected to the controller.

Bless Lian Li fans. went for the infinity fans in my new build and its been a breeze

could you make a video regarding argb hubs? I have EK-Loop fans that surfaced this issue with ARGB as a whole since I am not sure of the difference with argb splitters and hubs

I agree with all of your points on this video. Most motherboard RGB software is junk. I also hate the 5V ARGB connector. They should have made something with positive feedback like a click connector or even something like a boxed USB connector so there is no doubt your are connected correctly. I eventually adapted my ARGB lighting to connectors compatible with the extra (SM) connectors on the SL-INF controller and can control everything with Lian Li LConnect3, although I still use iCue for my memory and other Corsair external peripherals I have.

Awesome video. Quick question.
I have Lian Li sl infinity fans with the gallihad lcd. I recently added a 515x1920 touch screen in Y60 case.
The instruction are plug in motherboard because of resolution rarity. So I've got it all going but every once and a while I can't control my lights and it doesn't show the controller hub in the software where update is but it still shows the gallihad lcd.
Any idea how to fix this.
I tried new controller hub and wires.
And Update plus seperate SATA cable for more power.

I agree, the RGB connectors are probably the most annoying out of all of them. Your build looks nice in that case.

Hey Sensi, I was wondering if I should connect my Lian li fans to my motherboard when overclocking, and would it make a difference. I have the fans set up in L-Connect as to where the speed changes if the temps go up, my temp stay in the mid 70's when 4k gaming, Thx in advance.

Got love when you try plugging in a 5v rgb connector just for it to slightly bend the ground pin. The shroud design of the connector just makes it ever more frustrating.
