Fantastic song from a fantastic movie with a fantastic cast. Danny DeVito, Judge Reinhold, Bill Pullman, Helen Slater, and Bette Midler.

An 80’s comedy classic. All the cast played off each other & witty writing and that’s what made the magic. No modern Hollywood film could live up to the amazing movie magic that this film showed. Just by being a simple story with outrageous circumstances. Keeping it fairly family friendly too.

How was this not a Top 40 hit back in the day? This is a _great_ song!

Underrated song.  Really clever lyrics.  "You can have it if you want it.  It might take the rest of your life/If you want it you can have it. Do a balancing act on a knife."

I grew up watching this movie, I was like six or seven when I watched this. And looking back now I realized, I was way too young to be watching this and yet, I always enjoy it. Back then as well as today. Awesome movie, one of my all time favorite movies of the 80’s

I have ordered this movie on Dvd for a very reasonable price and I am so looking forward to watching it after a long long time as I have forgotten how great Bette Midler and Danny Devito were. as for Sir Michael Jagger singing the title song, brilliant just brilliant.

Stand up and take a bow sir Mick Jagger for this song. So many will never hear this.

This film was a masterpiece in comedy and irony... one of the best ever made - total black humour.... the absolute lowest, base form of our natures. Bette Midler and Danny Devito were both outstanding in it. I saw it as a kid and never realised Mick Jagger wrote the soundtrack. Wow! I still remember the irony of the LA police ambush and the petty thief getting caught up in it not realising its a set up, ha ha - best role Bill Pullman ever played. Dale Launer wrote one of the best premises for a film ever with this one (1986).

One of the best songs of the 80s in one of the funniest and most intelligent comedies ever made

Had to be 13 or younger when I first saw the movie and I still think about it to this day.

That little horn breakdown at the end is the icing on the cake.

I can't believe I found this. Thanks for posting this. I have always wanted to hear the whole song after seeing the film Ruthless People. That movie is hilarious.

I've been searching for this record for years!! I first heard it back in 1986 and have never been able to pin point whether it was Mick or The Stones. My lyrics were 'Roll a thick one'. Ha ha, that's what retirement is for: catching up with your emotions lost down the highway of a working life. As they say here in France "Quel Pied" Yé, Yé, Yé, Yeeaah!!!

Some of my favorite lines:

"I can't even sell retail...and that's _legal!"_
"I've been kidnapped by K-Mart!"
"So what if it's as big as a Subaru and costs as much? This is gonna be with you for the rest of your life! AND WHEN YOU DIE, _THEY CAN BURY YOU IN IT!!"_
