Definitely gives a strategic feel while you're against an opponent in some sort of competitive game, including chess as things can get tense with one mistake, but still sounds phenomenal on its own without considering the context of this song's title. Playing this theme helps when I'm brainstorming teams to use for Pokémon battling against friends, although my mind immediately goes to thinking about Bisharp and Kingambit since they're inspired by chess pieces.
