“You have dog in every fight…” EAM Jaishankar highlights India’s stance in multiple global conflicts

EAM Jaishankar discussed multipolarity at the Carnegie Endowment event, highlighting the shift from a bipolar world order to a more complex, multipolar one. Since World War II, 150 countries have gained independence, leading to a redistribution of economic activity. He emphasized that multipolarity is emerging, evident in the changing top 20 economies every 20 years. Decision-making is now more decentralized, with multiple players and regional powers playing crucial roles.
Jaishankar noted that India's foreign policy has transformed from non-alignment to multi-alignment, driven by globalization and multipolarity. This shift is characterized by, More decision-making centers, Diversified partnerships, Increased capabilities, Willingness to take risks
He differentiated this approach from the non-alignment of the 1970s, which was more defensive, less capability-driven, and less active. Today, India's stance is more active, capability-driven, and willing to make choices, exemplified by its participation in the Quad.

As an Indian, I clearly understand what current Indian foreign policy is. Countries has priorities. India has lost out 2 precious decades of development as compare to china. India and China being equally abundant in Human Resources, india lagged behind due to poor leadership and poor policies. Now India’s intellectuals understand this deficit and will make up for it to be a number 1 economy.
I say this to any country, don’t count on india to fight your war or any country’s war or ally or not. India will help to a certain extend but india won’t bother much. Because, We have better things to do at home than abroad.
So, I applaud this current Indian foreign policies. Do worry if Pakistan or China attacks us or any country, india can’t be defeated by conventional war. There’s like 10-20 millions india boys wanting to join Indian army and not selected every year.

Domestic policies decide a country's leadership. India lacks a credible Opposition leadership that can continue to take the country forward economically and strategically, if domestic politics opt for their leadership. Politics without national pride is India's Damocles sword, and certainly the Opposition has demonstrated their partisanship and dexterity in undermining National pride and integrity.
